For the third consecutive year, Blaire has been asked to perform in the Nutcracker Ballet with the New York City Ballet. She lives near San Francisco, and has performed in their own version since she was the age of four. As her father owns a chain of American Girl Grand Hotels, she always has a classy place to stay on her travels. She is well looked after by the staff, and especially by the head chef and pastry maker.
After a long day of dress rehearsals, Blaire returns to her hotel room exhausted, but happy. Then there's a knock on her door, and someone from room service is rolling in a cart. The pastry chef who has allowed Blaire to come and decorate cookies with him each year, and help build the hotel's giant gingerbread house, has made a treat for her. Four wonderful sugar cookies in the shapes and colors of the costumes in the ballet!
Blaire chooses the Candy Cane, and enjoys it with the cup of cocoa so thoughtfully brought in. The very next day, Blaire has two complimentary tickets to the ballet sent to the pastry chef!
